Minnesota native John Snell (the Tenth) started writing music when he was just fifteen, but his musical admiration was apparent at an even earlier age. John's mother can attest to him dancing to the hum of the vacuum cleaner while he was still in cloth diapers. Since those early days, JS10 has written over 150 songs, grown out of diapers, and released 5 full-length albums (Including IntHEkeYO- fvacUUm, The Alien Highway, Audibly Oriented, and now The Clock Stops Here). Vocal training was started on John in his third grade of school; his writing wavering melodic harmonies is a result of singing nine years with organized choirs. And yes, he is actually John Snell the Tenth...his father's John Snell the Ninth and everything. |

Currently John is working on promoting his latest studio album "The Clock Stops Here". He also recently finished a double album titled "Peculiar Songs for a Particular Audience--The complete home recordings of John Snell the Tenth". Also, a new studio album tentatively titled "Ignition to On Position" was started in July of 2005 at 3rd Ear Recording Studio, and the 6 new songs are arguably the best thing written to date! John's goal for the future is to release albums fast enough to keep up with his song writing and artwork compositions. To understand John better, read quotes from his Journals, read song lyrics or his philosophical writings. |

What
is John like? What does he think about? Rather than looking at a glass and contemplating its half-fullness vs. its half-emptyness, I am far more likely to contemplate why the glass is there and what the future holds for the water inside. Since water on earth is only destroyed by the force of lightning (lightning separates the water into its two elemental gasses Hydrogen and Oxygen), it is reasonable to assume the water in the glass will be around until the planet earth is incinerated by our exploding sun. What does the next 100,000 years hold for the water in the glass? Will the water ever be lucky enough to fly as vapor in the sky?? Or will the water soon find its way to the ocean where it will remain until the end of our time? What are the chances that this particular collection of water would end up in front of me? Astronomical. Is there a mad and evil scientist somewhere passing high voltage through water in a psychotic effort to obliviate the fruit of all life? Am I going to have to wash the glass holding this water? These are the things I contemplate when I see a glass half full. ~ John Snell the Tenth |
